RepoVerse
Explore famous codebases as 3D cities
A file tree tells you what exists. It does not tell you what is large, what everything else depends on, or what nobody has touched in a year. RepoVerse turns a repository into a city so that shape becomes visible: folders are districts, files are buildings, height comes from lines of code, and git history decides how each building looks — recent work gets construction cranes, abandoned code weathers grey.
The metropolisSee every mapped repository at once, connected by what they depend on.→Preact
JavaScriptpreactjs/preact
The same shape as React drawn at a tenth the scale. One small core district holds the diffing algorithm, and the compatibility layer sits beside it as a separate quarter.
Vue
TypeScriptvuejs/core
Cleanly zoned: compiler, runtime and reactivity each occupy their own district, with narrow, deliberate roads between them.
FastAPI
Pythonfastapi/fastapi
A metropolis where documentation outweighs the source. The library itself is a compact, tall core surrounded by sprawling tutorial suburbs.
Tornado
Pythontornadoweb/tornado
A web framework built around its own event loop, which shows: the networking core is a tight cluster, and the HTTP handling grows outward from it.
Flask
Pythonpallets/flask
A small town rather than a city. Few buildings, all of them central — almost every file talks to almost every other one.
Express
JavaScriptexpressjs/express
Flat and horizontal. A handful of core buildings surrounded by an unusually large district of examples.
Requests
Pythonpsf/requests
Famously small and tidy. A single main street, a dozen buildings, and almost no sprawl — the shape of a library that stayed focused.
Click
Pythonpallets/click
A layered package structure that reads clearly from above: parsing, core and decorators stacked in visible tiers.
SWR
TypeScriptvercel/swr
Compact and modern. A few tall buildings of hooks logic with test districts mirroring them almost one to one.
Axios
JavaScriptaxios/axios
A hub-and-spoke town. The core adapter sits at the centre and everything else radiates outward from it.
Gin
Gogin-gonic/gin
A Go web framework with almost no vertical sprawl. The router and context types carry most of the weight, and nearly every building sits one level from the centre.
D3
JavaScriptd3/d3
A federation rather than a city — dozens of small, independent modules with surprisingly few roads between them.

Scan your own repository
Any public GitHub repository works, and public scans need no account. Paste an address and the city is generated from the code itself — the same repository always produces the same city, so you can recognise your own project between visits.
Open RepoVerseQuestions
- What is a code city?
- A 3D map of a repository: each file is a building, folders are districts, and git history lights recent work. It is generated from the source, not drawn by hand.
- Do I need an account?
- Not for public GitHub repositories. Private repos need a GitHub login and Pro.
- How do I share a city?
- Every mapped repository has a public URL of the form /city/owner/repo, with a preview card for X, Slack, and iMessage.
